I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't spend the month of February blogging about Valentines day.

My goal for the blog is to be more personable and share my wax creations without it seeming like a marketing campaign, it's been an odd line to walk.

I'm still learning and trying new things and I suppose the blog will be a reflection of that.

Pine cone candles

These are being made in a new blend of soy and paraffin, not sure how well they'll stand up to the heat of our summers but I love how well they burn.  I'd really like to switch to a more natural wax for all of the candles that I make.

These guys are my test run.

All stocked up and ready for the fall season.  Currently I can make 55 of these a day with plans to increase that if they sell well this year.  Here's hoping!

New Floating Moon Candles

I've had blast making these slumbering moon floating candles.

I released them last summer for a short time in lighter shades of yellow and blue but I really love the depth of the darker colors.  So now I've been making them in both and you can now purchase them in bulk sets of a dozen.

These burn for a whopping 6 hours and would perfect matched with our floating star candles.
Great for those midsummer night weddings or events and baby showers.

Been spending most of the early fall season trying to take better product photos.

Photography has never been my strong suit but those skills are necessary for selling online.   When I opened my retail store I did't have to worry too much about photographing my products.  Now it seems like I spend more time setting up for a shoot that than I do making the candles.

Feeling late to party this year.  Always a few months behind getting out the right candles for the current season.

I really love how these turned out, even though they are time consuming with the two step process to get the brown seed center before the over pour of yellow.  They've been hypnotic to make once I get in to the rhythm.
