Tiki bars, tiki rooms and Tiki Candles

Who knew tikis were all the rage!  Seriously, in preparation for getting my tiki candles out I was looking up ways to display them, since the bulk of the candles I make are for weddings and reception decor I kept returning to boho beachy weddings but in my searches I found a whole amazing subculture of tiki rooms and tiki bars. Personal oasis' decked out in dream like jungle decor.  With exotic wood fixtures, bamboo furniture, grass skirts and palm trees.

It was a long hard road making these Tiki Candles.  I was scheduled to have these out at the begging of May for the summer season, palm wax turn out to be more difficult to work with than I ever thought it would be.  But the results are totally worth it!
Scented in tropical tuberose and mango beechwood and let me tell ya.  They smell divine!

free wood

Around November you'll start seeing the lights being stung and the tents go up

The empty lots turn in to forests

Branches trimmed, trunks sawed

Now's your chance to score some wonderful decorations.

Most lots will let you pick through the trimmings and pieces of wood.

FOR FREE

I'm usually covered in sap by the time I'm done

firs, spruces, cypress, and pines

Fragrant trimmings for wreaths and vases

Fresh cut trunks for candle holders

I use them all year round.

A touch of rustic woodland at my fingertips when ever I need them.

candle plates, coasters, or just sitting pretty.

They'll leak a bit of sap for a few days

It's recommended to glue a few dots of felt or rubber bumpers to the bottoms

you don't want to ruin your furniture.

preparing for wine cork season

Last year when I first brought these out I didn't anticipate how well received they'd be.  I didn't make enough and couldn't keep with the demand.

This year I'm doing my best to be better prepared and have spent the past two months pouring, dipping and packing up wine cork candles galore.

Wine cork candles

Is your wedding destination a vineyard, are you a thrower of wine and cheese parties..  If so, invite me please.

Maybe your looking for a unique gift idea for a house warming or in need of that little something extra for a romantic dinner.

I got ya covered.

Wine cork candles  Yup, candles in the shape of wine corks.  They'll make excellent centerpieces for buffet tables or wedding receptions.  Use them at your next dinner party and everyone one will be asking about them. Group several size wine bottles together around a tall floral arrangement.

Don't forget to place something under the bottles so as not to ruin your table or linens. As they melt, wax will drip down the sides of the bottles.
